Lago Lindo Football Club
Lago Lindo Football Club is a community-based soccer organization dedicated to providing players of all ages with opportunities to learn, develop, and enjoy the game. Through both indoor and outdoor programs, the club focuses on skill development, teamwork, and fostering a positive and inclusive environment for players, coaches, and families.
Indoor Soccer
Indoor soccer is played at indoor soccer facilities on artificial turf, featuring hockey-style arena boards and built-in goals. The season typically runs from mid-October through mid-February, with opportunities to continue into March through tournaments and post-season play.
Players generally participate in one game per week at an indoor soccer centre and attend practices weekly or every second week at a local school gym. Game and practice schedules are released shortly before the start of the season.
Outdoor Soccer
Outdoor soccer is played on City of Edmonton fields, weather permitting. The season runs from early May through the end of June, with the potential to extend into July for teams participating in post-season play.
Players typically play two games per week, with additional practices scheduled at the coach’s discretion. Programs for U13 and older are operated city-wide and are not limited to the North Zone. Game schedules are released shortly before the season begins.
Schedule
Game schedules are released shortly before the start of each season. Once finalized, all teams will be able to access their full list of scheduled games online.
Schedules include game dates, times, locations, and opponent information, and may be updated throughout the season if changes are required due to weather, facility availability, or league adjustments.
What happens after I register?
Once your registration is complete, our team of volunteers will begin forming teams. Approximately 1–2 weeks before the season starts, your coach will contact you with team details, schedules, and other important information.
Where can I find more information about the season?
We’ve compiled answers to common questions in our Lago Lindo Soccer FAQs document.
You can also review the EMSA North Season FAQs, which include information about indoor, outdoor, and mini soccer seasons.
I'm interested in coaching. How can I get involved?
We are always looking for volunteer coaches and team managers!
In some age groups, registration may be limited until enough coaches have been confirmed. As an added benefit, coaching or managing a team fulfills your volunteer commitment—no additional volunteer hours are required.
If you’re interested in coaching but would like to learn more before committing, we’d be happy to help. Please contact us at soccer@lagolindo.ca to discuss the role and upcoming opportunities.
All coaches must:
- Register through the EMSA soccer portal
- Complete a Police Information Check as required by EMSA
Are there financial assistance programs available?
Yes. Financial assistance may be available through:
Applications should be completed before registration. Proof of funding approval must be provided during the registration process.
I don't live in Lago Lindo. Can I still play here?
Absolutely. During registration, simply request a transfer to Lago Lindo through the registration portal. You may also contact the Soccer Director to follow up on your request.
I live in Lago Lindo but want to play for another community. What do I do?
If you wish to play for a community other than your home community, select your preferred community during registration and submit a transfer request through the registration portal. You may also contact the Soccer Director for assistance.
Can I make special requests?
We do our best to accommodate special requests whenever possible, but we cannot guarantee them due to team size and roster limitations.
If requesting placement with a friend or coach, please ensure all names are spelled correctly and that players are registered in the same age division. Small errors can make it difficult for volunteers to process requests accurately.
In some cases, if there are not enough players or coaches to form a team, we may work with neighboring communities to ensure all players have an opportunity to participate. This could result in a player being assigned to another community team.
What is the refund policy?
Community League Memberships are non-refundable.
Soccer registration refunds are governed by EMSA’s current refund policy. Please refer to the applicable EMSA refund policy for details.
